Hi, thanks for your Howto. After the xm create install.py the VM seems to start but then crashes for no reason. Is there a way to get additional information, a debug mode or something?

Thanks

You can also use vpnc plugin for network manager which has GUI
$ sudo apt-get install networkmanager-vpnc

After that you can create right click network manager icon in your panel and configure the needed information for your VPN. In the GUI you can create several profile if you connect via several vpn gateways.

The GUI method somehow doesn't complain about resolv.conf not being a symlink and can add necessary nameserver into /etc/resolv.conf

If somehow you cannot browse after successfully connecting to the VPN, make sure that you choose the correct NAT transversal mode. The default for GUI is Cisco-UDP, but the default in commandline is NAT-T.

Thanks for this blog entry and your prompt response to any support questions. Even from your iPhone when you are not at your Mac.
If there was a ten thumbs up to rate your service... I would click it without a blink...

Yes you can use aws console or firefox if you don't want to use the command line tools. You just need to authorize and open the port on the server with the ec2 group you are using with your instance.

If one does not use the EC2 command line tools, would it be sufficient to amend the security group using the Amazon interface or ElastiFox to open the port on the server.

Is there anything specific that need to be done on the client machine in addition to opening the port on the server?

Hi Cameron,

You are right. It does not look like conventional REST call but you can utilize zend_controller and create clean URLs. Its a matter of presentation.

http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.controller.html

Thanks,

Although I like this post, I don't understand how this is a REST API example. You don't seem to show the use of POST PUT and DELETE request methods. The URI http://localhost/weather_rest.php?method=get_temperature&zipcode=95055 is not very RESTful as you are specifying the method to execute as opposed to accessing a resource using the GET request method.

Would be more RESTful if it looked like GET weather_rest.php/95055

Cheers
